Kasota Man Accused Of Running Over Girlfriend, Fleeing Scene

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 28-year-old Kasota man is in custody after allegedly throwing his girlfriend out of a vehicle, running over her and then fleeing the scene early Sunday morning.

The Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office says they first received report of the incident at 4:30 a.m. at a residence in Kasota.

The victim, whose name and age have not been released, says her boyfriend assaulted her in his vehicle before pushing her out and running her over. She crawled to a nearby home, where residents called 911.

The woman was taken to Mankato Mayo Health System Hospital, where she is still hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested Monday. He is being held at the Le Sueur County Jail where he awaits criminal charges.

He will make his first court appearance Wednesday.
