Rep. Phyllis Kahn Facing Uphill Battle At DFL Convention

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota's longest-serving legislator is facing some obstacles Saturday night against her own party.

Democratic Rep. Phyllis Kahn was first elected to her House seat in 1972.

At Saturday's DFL convention, Kahn is facing an uphill battle, losing delegate counts in at least two ballot results.

Her toughest competitor is Ilhan Omar, who won 141 delegates in the first count. Kahn won 89.

This wouldn't be the first time Kahn has lost her party's nomination. It also happened two years ago before winning her seat that following September.

The convention is still counting more rounds of votes.
