More Potential Jurors Dismissed For Mohamed Noor Trial

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The search for 12 jurors continues in the murder trial of a former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor.

He shot and killed Justine Ruszczyk Damond in 2017 after she called about a possible sexual assault outside her home.

The defense and prosecutors have spent all week going through questionnaires of 75 potential jurors. Sixteen have been dismissed for various reasons, including bias against Somali Americans and having a relative on the Minneapolis Police force.

The judge also heard arguments Wednesday about 3-D technology the prosecution wants to use. State investigators used a scanner to create an animation of the scene where Justine Ruszczyk Damond died in July of 2017. Noor's lawyers object to it being used in the trial.

Noor has pleaded not guilty to murder and manslaughter charges.
