Johnson: Senate Office Building An Example Of 'Dayton Administration'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A leading Republican candidate for governor says he would try to stop construction of a controversial Senate office building project near the Capitol if elected.

Jeff Johnson is the party-endorsed Republican candidate for governor. He said he'd cancel the $90 million office project if construction is not too far along by January.

"This is one example of many things that shows for the Dayton administration, it is about government versus the people, and unfortunately government seems to be winning," Johnson said.

He is one of four major Republican candidates running for governor in next Tuesday's primary.
