Kline Wins 7th Term In Southern Minnesota Seat

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — GOP Rep. John Kline has won his 7th term in Congress despite a well-known comedian's intervention in the race.

Kline beat Democrat Mike Obermueller to keep his southern metro seat even after liberal comedian Bill Maher made him the target of his "Flip-A-District" campaign.

Maher even traveled to Northfield, but Kline easily handled former state representative Obermueller for the second straight election.

Kline is a former helicopter pilot in the Marines. He serves on the House Education and Armed Services committees.
