Jerry Kill Announces Gophers Football Fall Camp Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota football team has just a few weeks until it starts fall camp, and coach Jerry Kill announced the team's practice schedule on Tuesday.

The Gophers are coming off their second straight 8-5 regular season and a loss to Missouri in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1. It was the program's first New Year's Day bowl game in 50 years.

Kill and the Gophers will have their first fall practice at 10:25 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at the Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex. The team will have four practices open to the general public. One of those four practices is a scrimmage at about 10:10 a.m. on Aug. 15.

Minnesota's fifth season under Kill begins with an 8 p.m. contest on Thursday, Sept. 3, against TCU at TCF Bank Stadium. The Horned Frogs beat the Gophers 30-7 last year and are expected to be ranked in the top-five in the country to start the season.

In four seasons with the Gophers, Kill has a 25-26 record. That includes an 0-3 showing in bowl games.
