Is She Gonna Blow?

I have strategically placed my kids' hoverboard near the sliding glass doors in our house ... just in case it bursts into flames.

I know it's absolutely insane that I keep a toy in the house that may (or may not) spontaneously combust at any time. I've wrestled with this. But the kids made a compelling case.

All three of them saved and pooled their money, did research on which batteries were the safest, found the board that had that battery, and agreed to share the Hoverboard. The parenting struggle is real.

The board was ordered but it came with a defective charger. The working one arrived today. I plugged it in then searched the house for a fire extinguisher, and moved the charging board as close to a door as possible so I could throw it in the snow if it starts sprouting flames.

I've even spent the last hour watching it charge and feeling it for heat. Insane, I know. The stats show millions of Hoverboards have been sold and 52 have burst into flames. I don't love the odds, but have you ridden one ... they're really fun!!!

#FOMO

OK, I need to go watch the charging hoverboard and protect my hard wood floors. I'll keep you posted on the flammability of our new toy and my parenting choices.
