Iowa Authorities Seek Mysterious 'Men In Black'

MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) — Authorities in southeast Iowa are trying to find the mysterious men in black trench coats who have been spotted in the dark alongside roadways.

Several people on social media have been sharing news of sightings along Iowa Highway 22 west of Muscatine and elsewhere. They've been dubbed the "men in black." In some cases they just stand along the highway. In other instances they've stepped onto the pavement as motorists pass.

Muscatine County Sheriff' C.J. Ryan says no crimes have been connected to the black-clad men or teenagers. But he says they're engaged in a dangerous activity and could be held criminally or civilly responsible if someone were injured or property were damaged.
