Suspects Lead Police On Chase, Hit Squad Car In Inver Grove Heights

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Three men are in police custody after leading officers on a chase Friday evening. One of them crashed into a squad car while attempting to flee.

According to a press release from the Eagan Police Department, the chase began at around 5:30 p.m. when officers attempted to pull over a vehicle that had an outstanding warrant. The vehicle fled and lead officers on a pursuit, partially on Interstate 494, until it crashed in Inver Grove Heights.

There police say two of the suspects in the vehicle were apprehended while the driver, identified as 46-year-old Michael Dennis Jerry of St. Paul Park, fled on foot.

Officers say the suspect then stole a vehicle that was left running and attempted to flee until he crashed into a squad car. He is being treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say one officer sustained minor injuries during the foot chase.
