New 'Ugly List' Scam Targets Instagram Users

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Better Business Bureau released a new warning about a scam using Instagram Tuesday.

The Better Business Bureau said the scam is called the "Ugly List."

Users are fooled into thinking a friend tagged them in a mean spirited prank, but it's really a phishing scam.

In the notification there's a link to the full post. If you click on it, it looks like the Instagram log-in but the form is fake.

Scammers are trying to get your username and password. Once scammers have your information, they use it to tag other friends.

To report the scam, or others you encounter, visit Instagram's resources online.
