Inspiring Fridley 5th Grader Attends White House Egg Roll

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- President Obama and the First Lady hosted the annual White House Easter Egg Roll Monday morning. The event draws tens of thousands of people to the White House South Lawn each year.

Among the kids there was Fridley fifth-grader, Graham Trocke-Fowler.

The 11-year-old started making bracelets to raise money for childhood cancer. He did it as a way to pass time during his own treatment for melanoma.

He has made about 34,000 bracelets so far – raising about $50,000.

For his efforts, the White House invited him to the official Easter Egg Roll to meet the President.
