MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An inmate who escaped from the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Stillwater last Friday morning has been located and taken into custody, according to the Minnesota Department of Corrections.

Corrections officials say Patrick James Buswell, 40, was serving a 60-month sentence for a weapons offense when he walked away from the minimum security unit. His electronic monitoring device was later found by local police.

On Wednesday at 2:40 a.m., authorities located Buswell at a rural residence in the Holcombe, Wisconsin area and he is now in custody at the Chippewa County Jail.

Now, Buswell is expected to face new criminal charges for escape in Minnesota and possible narcotics charges in Wisconsin.

He was apprehended by the DOC's Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the U.S. Marshals and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation.
