Inaugural Minnesota Redneck Festival To Take Place In May

AITKIN, Minn. (AP) — You might be a redneck if you plan on going to the inaugural Minnesota Redneck Festival this spring.

The three-day festival will be held in Aitkin from May 20-22.

Events include lawnmower racing, an armpit serenade, bowling with tires and trash cans, toilet seat horseshoes and Miss and Mr. 'Merica contests.

Music will be provided by a female musical duo, The French Hillbillies, and a jug band. There will be a beer tent and a road-kill buffet in the historic Butler Building Opera House.

Aitkin was recently named the number-one redneck city in Minnesota by RoadSnacks.
