Idina Menzel To Sing Anthem At All-Star Game

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Major League Baseball announced Tuesday that Tony Award-winning singer Idina Menzel will sing the U.S. national anthem at next week's All-Star Game at Target Field.

It's one of many musical performances that will be a part of the All-Star Game experience in Minneapolis. Menzel will also have a special on-field performance before the July 15 game honoring 30 winners of the "Target presents PEOPLE All-Star Teachers" program.

Officials said Aloe Blacc will perform on the field Monday night before the Home Run Derby at Target Field.

Menzel will also perform the Bob Dylan song "Forever Young" as part of the pregame ceremony highlighting the "All-Star Teachers." It's a program that honors current and retired teachers who make an impact on their students and communities.

As part of the All-Star Game, the Minnesota Orchestra brass quintet will perform the Canadian national anthem. Country music artist Joe Nichols will sing "God Bless America."

Other bands performing as part of the event include Panic! At The Disco, who will perform before the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game.

A concert before the All-Star Game outside Target Field will include O.A.R., Home Free, Imagine Dragons and Atmosphere.
