Identities Released In Fatal Crash Involving Tow Truck

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Identities have been released in a fatal crash involving a tow truck in Blue Earth County Monday.

According to a statement from the Blue Earth County Sheriff's office, it happened at the intersection of County Road 10 and County Road 14, just west of the city of Pemberton.

Authorities say a 2001 Ford Taurus carrying to people collided with the tow truck, which was only carrying the driver. Both people in the Taurus were pronounced dead at the scene, while the tow truck driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, the driver of the Ford was identified as Jasmine Newman-Evans, 21, of Clarks Grove, Minnesota. The passenger was identified as David Wesley Neely, 24, of Albert Lea.

The tow truck driver was identified as 22-year-old Nicholas Robert Peterson of Lake Mills, Iowa.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff's office and the Minnesota State Patrol continue to investigate.
