Ice Fishers Rescued From Chisago County Lake

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two Twin Cities men were rescued from a Chisago County lake Saturday morning after they were fishing on thin ice.

One of the men called 911 just after 10 a.m. to report that he and his friend were trapped on Little Lake, according to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office.

The Lindstrom Fire Department used an airboat to bring the men to shore. One of the men is from St. Paul, and the other is from Maplewood. Both are 20 years old.

The sheriff's office is warning other anglers to stay off area lakes due to rapid ice melt.
