Eden Prairie Man Killed, 2 Mpls. Men Injured In I-35 Crash In Iowa

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An Eden Prairie man is dead and two others are injured after a rollover crash on Interstate 35 near Ames, Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol says Julian Delgado Alonso, 28, was driving a Chevrolet Suburban on southbound I-35 when one of his tires blew out just after 8 a.m.

The Suburban went into a ditch and rolled several times. Alonso was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His two passengers, 57-years-old Fidel Gutierrez Landin and 25-year-old Marco Antonio Dominguez Ojeda, were wearing seat belts and survived the crash. Both were hospitalized.

The extent of their injuries has not been released. The state patrol is investigating.
