I-94 To Close In St. Paul Over The Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Motorists are going to have to schedule in a few extra minutes if they're commuting between St. Paul and Minneapolis over the weekend.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says that Interstate 94 will be closing in both directions between Highway 280 and Interstate 35E.

The closure begins at 10 p.m. Friday and will continue until 5 a.m. Monday.

MnDOT says the closure will allow crews to remove the bridge deck and driving surface from the Snelling Avenue Bridge over I-94.

The Snelling Avenue Bridge closed earlier this week, and will remain closed until the middle of August.
