I-35W Bridge Ordered To Remain Purple All Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Monuments and landmarks across the world have been lit up purple to honor Prince and his memory – and the purple glow will continue in Minneapolis all weekend.

On Friday, Gov. Mark Dayton directed the Minnesota Department of Transportation to continue the purple lighting of the Interstate 35W Bridge in Minneapolis through the weekend.

"Prince, and his music, defined an era," Dayton said. "His tremendous talent was matched only by his generosity and commitment to improving his community. Prince Rogers Nelson died at his Paisley Park studios Thursday morning. His autopsy was scheduled for Friday at 9 a.m.
