I-35 South Of Owatonna Reopens After Crash

OWATONNA, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota State Patrol says a section of I-35 south of Owatonna that was closed after a fiery crash has now reopened.

The Patrol says a semi and a car were stopped in the right northbound lane Thursday afternoon due to traffic backups. Another semi crashed into the car, which then collided with the first semi. The trucks then caught on fire, sending a plume of smoke into the sky that could be seen for miles.

Traffic was detoured onto other roads. Southbound I-35 was reduced to one lane.

All lanes in both directions in that area are now reopened.
