Bicyclist Hit, Killed By Vehicle In Forest Lake

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident involving a bicyclist and a car in Forest Lake Wednesday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at 3:40 a.m. 52-year-old Ronald Rucker, of Forest Lake, was driving westbound on Highway 97 at Forest Road North. At the same time, a bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Highway 97.

The cyclist moved into the westbound lanes while traveling eastbound and was struck by Rucker.

Rucker suffered no injuries. The cyclists was killed.

Highway 97 is now open in both directions.
