Twin Cities Native Plans To Ride Out Hurricane Matthew

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Bloomington native who now lives on Florida's east coast says she and her family have decided to ride out Hurricane Matthew.

Amanda D'Ambra says they did not make their decision lightly, and have done all they can do to brace for the storm.

"We have boarded up all of our windows, we have taken pictures and video of all of our home, our cars, our boat for insurance purposes," D'Ambra said. "We have a generator for if we need electricity, as well as a full tank of gas in the boat that we can siphon from. Our cars are filled up with gas, we have non-perishables and water to last us for at least three days."

D'Ambra says most of her neighbors have also decided to stay put. She lives in Titusville, located near the mid-way point of Florida's east coast.
