How Low Can Gas Prices Go?

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Gas prices in Minnesota are about 20 cents lower than the national average.

"It's probably going to go a little lower, but not much more," AAA Minnesota spokesperson Gail Weinholzer said. "It probably won't go a lot lower, maybe a nickel or a dime, but not much more than that."

The average price for gas is $2.95 a gallon.

Weinholzer said the decline is typical this time of year, after Labor Day, when people stop traveling so much.

"They have declined a bit more than usual, but it's not unexpected," she said.

She said as we near Thanksgiving, it will put pressure on prices, with people traveling for the holidays, and we will see a bit of an increase.
