Homes In West St. Paul, Eden Prairie Damaged In Overnight Fires

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two homes, on opposite ends of the Twin Cities, were damaged in fires early Monday morning.

The first happened around 12:30 a.m. in Eden Prairie, on the 7500 block of Ontario Parkway. Firefighters arrived to find a bedroom on fire in the front of the house.

One person was home. They made it out alive, but did suffered minor burns. Additionally, a firefighter had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

A very short time later, firefighters in West St. Paul were called to a house fire on the 1000 block of Stryker Avenue.

A front porch was engulfed, and the fire climbed into the house and up to the second floor.

Four people were home when it happened. They all made it out safely. They are staying with family because the house has significant damage.

A cause is under investigation in both of these fires.
