House Fire Displaces 6 In North Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – As many as six people are displaced Monday morning after a house fire in north Minneapolis.

Crews were called to the 3900 block of Emerson Avenue North just after midnight on a report of a fire in a bedroom. When authorities arrived, the fire had spread out a window and up the back of the house. Fire officials said strong winds made conditions difficult to battle the fire.

All occupants of the home, three children and three adults, were able to get out safely. They are being assisted by the American Red Cross. Crews were able to put the fire out, but the home suffered significant smoke and water damage.

Authorities said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
