Hotel Shooting Leaves 1 Injured, Police Searching For Suspect

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A shooting at a Bloomington hotel early Sunday morning sent one person to the hospital, and police are searching for a suspect.

Police say the shooting happened at the Residence Inn on 7850 Bloomington Avenue shortly before 6 a.m.

There had been an all-night party in a second-floor room, and at one point the party-goers were asked to quiet down. After that, the renter of the room asked the party-goers to head out.

But one party-goer returned to the room, and there was an argument in the hallway. The party-goer fired two shots, hitting the renter of the room twice. The shooter then fled.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is being treated at the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Police say they've been in contact with 10 witnesses to determine the suspect's identity.

The shooting is under investigation.
