MDH Pinpointing Hopkins Legionnaires' Disease Sources

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Department of Health says they are looking at several possible sources for a recent outbreak of Legionnaires' disease.

There have been six confirmed cases of the disease so far in the city of Hopkins. There are also three other cases being investigated.

MDH officials believe one of those cases may be connected to Hopkins, while the other two are not.

Legionnaires' disease is a type of pneumonia that is caused by bacteria. People typically get it after breathing in mist from water that contains the bacteria.
