'Home Alone' Coming Back To Theaters

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- "Home Alone" is coming back to the big screen nationwide.

The holiday classic is celebrating its 25th anniversary. It was the top-grossing film in 1990, making $285 million. In fact, the film was the number one movie at the box office for 12 straight weeks. Only four other films have spent more weekends at #1: "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," "Titanic," "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Tootsie."

It was also nominated for two Academy Awards: best original score and best original song.

The film, which launched the career of Macauley Culkin, will return to select theaters for two nights -- November 8 and 11.
