Mayor Hodges Announces Plan To Run For Reelection

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Mayor of Minneapolis just announced she's running for reelection.

That makes two candidates for the job so far.

Mayor Betsy Hodges made her announcement to run for a second term in the Phillips neighborhood Thursday.

Hodges won in 2013 against a crowded field.

Her only opponent so far is former Minneapolis NAACP President Nekima Levy-Pounds.

Levy-Pounds has been harshly critical of Hodges and Minneapolis police after the 2015 shooting death of Jamar Clark.
