Hillary Clinton's Minn. 'Leadership Council' Nets Big-Name Help
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Both of Minnesota's U.S. senators as well as Gov. Mark Dayton have signed on to a state "leadership council" for Hillary Clinton's campaign for president.
The roster announced Monday includes more than 60 elected officials and community activists that will be working to turn out supporters at Minnesota's March 1 precinct caucuses.
Several had already voiced their Clinton support, but there are others from the state Legislature and beyond only now making their preference known. Among them is former Supreme Court Justice Alan Page, who wasn't able to take an active role in politics prior to leaving the bench in August.
Besides Sens. Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar, state Democratic Party Chairman Ken Martin and Lt. Gov. Tina Smith are also on the list. So is U.S. Rep Tim Walz.
