1 Teen Killed, 2 Others Seriously Injured In Dakota County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A crash in Dakota County left one teen dead and two others seriously injured Friday afternoon.

According to the State Patrol, it happened at around 2:44 p.m. on Highway 52 in Hampton. A Toyota Corolla carrying five teens was heading north when it lost control and veered onto the shoulder, then over-corrected and swerved into oncoming traffic.

Investigators say the Corolla collided head-on with a Kia Soul carrying an 87-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman. The Corolla then rolled and ejected some of its passengers.

Sahra Ahmed, 16, was killed in the crash. Edna Ahmed, 14, and Suad Ahmed, 16, were seriously injured. An 18-year-old was driving the car.
