High Winds, Heavy Rains Could Bring Snow To Minnesota, Wisconsin

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An autumn rainstorm is expected to bring significant rains and potentially some snow to parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Rain is expected to start falling around late afternoon in the Twin Cities, bringing strong winds along with it. Totals are expected to reach between one and two inches, with the metro seeing the heaviest rains. Meanwhile, winds could be gusting as high as 60 mph in southwest Minnesota.

Showers will continue throughout the evening, pushing east into western Wisconsin by early Thursday morning.

As the winds move in, temperatures will begin to drop. By Friday conditions could be cold enough to create snow in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.

No measurable snow is expected south of Duluth, but flurries are possible in the metro.

But if you're not quite ready for snow, hang on until Saturday. Temperatures will warm-up by the weekend.
