High School Students Trick-Or-Treat For Food Donations
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Some students went door-to-door Saturday, not for candy, but to collect food for those in need.
The "College Possible" organization works to make college admission a possibility for low-income students. On Saturday they were working to fight hunger.
More than 1,000 high school juniors and seniors went around the Twin Cities to collect non-perishable food to be donated.
"Not everyone is as fortunate as others, so donating food to the people less fortunate is really helpful," Highland Park Senior High School student Shannon Thao said.
After collecting food donations, everyone gathered at Eden Prairie High School to count and load the donated items.
The food was then donated to "The Food Group" which is a full service food bank in the Twin Cities with more than 200 relief partners in Minnesota.
