H.S. Football Practice Kicks Off In Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Several high schools around Minneapolis began the fall sports season with football practice on Monday.

This also marks the first season for CJ Hallman as head coach of DeLaSalle High School's football team. He takes over from former Islander coach Sean McMenomy, who coached the team for the last seven seasons.

"We were a young team last year; we averaged at about sophomore age on both sides of the ball," Hallman said. "Coach Sean (McMenomy) and I always used to say as they get older, they're going to be a really good team because they've had the experience. They took their lumps early."

This year's Prep Bowl will be held at the new U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Minnesota State High School League expects a rise in attendance with the new venue.
