Hennepin Theatre Trust To Buy Fmr. Solera Building

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Hennepin Theatre Trust officials announced Friday that the Trust will be purchasing the former Solera Building in downtown Minneapolis.

According to Trust officials, the Minneapolis City Council voted unanimously Friday to approve the interim financing for the $3.3 million project.

A portion of the Solera space will serve as offices for the Trust's employees, but the Trust will be working with a variety of partners to explore possibilities with using the space.

"One of the many strengths of our organization is our ability to recognize opportunities when they arise," said Tom Hoch, Hennepin Theatre Trust CEO/President. "When the Solera building became available, we acted quickly to acquire it so we could further our mission to unite and inspire our community through arts and culture."

The anticipated closing date is set for Friday, Aug. 19. The Trust hopes to move in to the new space in mid-2017.
