Hennepin Co. Warrant Sweep Underway; Fugitives Urged To Surrender

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office began a warrant sweep Thursday, and it's urging those with active warrants to surrender themselves.

Officials say the sweep will focus on offenders wanted for warrants related to child sex abuse, domestic abuse and other felony and gross misdemeanor warrants.

The sheriff's office said the sweep will be conducted with the help of 21 county law enforcement agencies.

Find Out If You Have An Active Warrant

If you want to know if you have an active warrant, go to the Central Records Unit at the Hennepin County Jail, located at 401 South 4th Ave. in Minneapolis. It's open 24/7 and requires a photo ID for access to information.

You can also call 612-348-2000 to see if there is a warrant for your arrest.

Turning Yourself In

If you want to avoid being arrested at home or work, it's advised that you turn yourself in.

You can do so at the county jail or at a local police station.
