Hennepin Co. Attorney Files Petition To Protect Peterson's Son

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Hennepin County Attorney's Office has filed a petition to protect Adrian Peterson's 4-year-old son.

According to the county, they have filed a Child in Need of Protection or Services petition.

The petition outlines some of injuries the boy sustained while visiting Peterson in Texas and also outlines a safety plan for Peterson and the boy's mother to follow.

"State law requires us to file an action in child protection court when charges are filed in criminal court alleging serious injuries against a child living in Hennepin County," Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said in a recent press release.

The county said the safety plan calls for, among other things, Peterson to refrain from physical discipline and unsupervised or unauthorized contact with his son.
