Hennepin To Close In Downtown Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One of the main thoroughfares in downtown Minneapolis will close over the weekend.
The city announced crews will work on Hennepin Avenue at the 5th Street intersection starting at 7 p.m. Friday.
The stretch between 4th and 6th Streets will be closed until 5 a.m. Monday.
The reason for the work, city officials said, is to replace a section of the rail for Metro Transit's light rail line.
The detour will will take drivers to First Avenue North.
