Twin Cities Rescue Caring For Burned Puppy
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A puppy intentionally set on fire with an accelerant is now getting care in the Twin Cities.
Someone found the puppy barking for help while on fire inside a dumpster at the Red Lake Reservation. He was quickly brought to Act V Rescue, who is treating his burns.
Veterinarians discovered the husky mix is about 5 months old and had nearly starved to death.
"It's sad to see someone would do that. I don't understand it. I don't understand it," Veterinarian Vickie Schulz with Act V Rescue said.
They've named the dog Phoenix, to represent his recovery and rising from the ashes. The rescue group is working with police to try to find the person or people responsible so they can be held accountable.
In the meantime, they are accepting donations to help pay for Phoenix's medical care.
