Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Moving Through Southern Minn.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Much of Minnesota will see heavy rain Saturday night, with a slight risk for damaging winds, according to WCCO meteorologist Molly Rosenblatt.

Storms moved through the southwestern and south central parts of the state Saturday night, missing the Twin Cities. Heavy rain and lightning were reported, as well as wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Areas that saw flooding earlier this week, mainly central Minnesota, may be at risk again due to the heavy rain expected.

Some lingering storms may occur Sunday morning, but most of the severe weather should move out of the state overnight.

Murray, Cottonwood and Jackson counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 11:45 p.m. Lincoln, Lyon and Murray counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 12 a.m.

A tornado warning for Lincoln County expired at 11:30 p.m.

Much of central, south central and southwestern Minnesota is under a severe thunderstorm watch until early Sunday morning.
