MPD Ready For More Crime During Heat Wave

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) –The Minneapolis police are preparing for what they believe could be a busy couple of days for them.

Chief Janee Harteau said when the temperatures rise, so too does crime.

"When the weather gets warmer, that's when more people are out. So those crimes of opportunities occur," Harteau said.

She said they will have extra officers on hand to handle anything that comes up.
