Head-On Collision With Semi In Bayfield County, Wisconsin Leaves 1 Dead

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is dead after a head-on collision with a semi truck in Bayfield County, Wisconsin late Wednesday night.

According to a release from the Wisconsin State Patrol, 54-year-old Dean Lusikka from Iron River, Wisconsin was westbound on Highway 2 when he lost control of his pickup truck on a slippery patch near Crooked Lake Road just before midnight. The pickup skidded into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by a semi-tractor trailer.

When the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene, they found Lusikka dead. The driver of the semi wasn't injured in the crash.

Police say Lusikka was wearing a seat belt.
