Hastings Fire Damages Historic House

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Firefighters battled a house fire in Hastings this morning.

Crews were called to the house on the 300 Block of Pine Street around 5:20 a.m.

The occupants of two condos in the home were able to get out safely. No injuries were reported.

The building is the former Thorwood Inn, which was originally a mansion built in 1878.

There was no official word yet on how the fire started.

Firefighters from Rosemount and Cottage Grove assisted the Hastings Fire Department.
