Hard Rock Cafe Announces Official Plans For MOA

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- After being away for the last three years, Hard Rock Cafe is officially coming back to the Twin Cities.

A press release on Tuesday announced the restaurant's new Mall of America location, set to open during the summer of 2014.

The new 15,000-square-foot cafe will seat 400 guests, feature private event space, free parking, patio seating and a live music stage, with capacity for 1,200 people. The Mall of America location will also have a Rock Shop retail store and an interactive "Rock Wall Solo" -- a 52-inch high resolution touch wall where guests can virtually explore some of the world's greatest music memorabilia.

Hard Rock was previously part of Block E in downtown Minneapolis, before shutting its doors in 2011.

The Mall of America location joins 180 other venues in 56 countries, including 140 cafes, 19 hotels and nine casinos.
