'Halloween Capital Of The World': Anoka Holds Massive Annual Parade

ANOKA, Minn. (WCCO) -- The self-proclaimed Halloween Capital of the World came through again Saturday.

The city of Anoka has the largest Halloween parade in Minnesota. It kicked off Saturday afternoon with an airplane show above the parade route. Floats and marching bands made their way through the crowds.

Some people put their chairs out, days in advance, to save their spots.

"It's huge, It's amazing," Tara Nechkash said at the parade. "People come from all over the place, and as you can see, it's crazy. They block off the roads, and it's a big deal."

On Saturday night, people in Anoka gathered for live music and a costume contest. It will be at the Anoka Halloween Tent on Jackson Street.
