Hagedorn Tops Nelson In 1st Congressional GOP Race

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Jim Hagedorn came out ahead of Carla Nelson in Tuesday's contentious GOP primary race for Congress in the state's 1st District.

The Associated Press reports Hagedorn collected about 60 percent of the votes.

Democratic Rep. Tim Walz announced earlier this year he would vacate the seat, which he's held since 2007, to throw his name in the race for governor.
