Habitat For Humanity Hosts All-Women Build In North Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Habitat for Humanity project in north Minneapolis is well under way, thanks to a group of women.

The all-women build started as an empty lot just a few months ago.

Saturday, a group of electrical workers from a local union ran wiring through what will soon be a family's home.

"The interest came from our members. The women in our local love to volunteer," Jennifer Gaspersich said. "We've been doing some work at some women shelters and we wanted to do a little bit larger project so we took on a Habitat house."

There were also volunteers from another local electrical workers union and from a local church.
