Guthrie Theater To Bid Farewell To Dowling With June 6 Gala

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Guthrie Theater will say goodbye to longtime leader Joe Dowling with a gala tribute on June 6.

"All the World's a Stage" will celebrate Dowling's 20 years at the helm of the Tony Award-winning Minneapolis theater.

The original production will feature local and national artists Dowling has nurtured during his two decades at the Guthrie.

The production is part of a Guthrie fundraiser. Performance-only tickets start at $75 and are on sale online or by calling the Guthrie box office.

Dowling, whose last day on the job is June 30, is the Guthrie's longest-serving artistic director. He took over in 1995 and guided the creation of the Guthrie's $125 million, three-stage complex on the Mississippi River.
