Gunfire Puts HCMC Into Lockdown

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis went into lockdown Tuesday afternoon after reports of gunfire outside of the hospital, according to sources.

The incident happened sometime after 3 p.m. near the area of 8th Street and Chicago Avenue, which is near the hospital's 8th Street ER entrance

A spokesperson from HCMC says the hospital was on lockdown for a short time, but the 8th Street entrance will remain closed during the police investigation.

No victims were found near the hospital, and no one arrested.

Minneapolis Police are investigating.
