Gun Shots Heard At St. Paul Apartment Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - St. Paul firefighters heard gun shots Monday afternoon while putting out a blaze at a North End apartment building.

The fire started around 2:30 p.m. on the 1100 block of Mackubin Street and was extinguished before it spread beyond a single apartment unit.

It's not clear where the sound of gun shots came from, the  St. Paul Fire Department said. It is possible the fire ignited ammunition stored in the apartment.

No firefighters were injured.

St. Paul police and fire are investigating the incident.
